Question on birth control?

I am going to start taking loestrin 10. On the instructions it says i can start on a sunday or the first day of my period. Since tomorrow iis sunday, i plan on starting to take my birth control. But i am on the last days of my period, not heavy just spotting, would the birth control still be effective since i am starting to take it while im ending my period?
